In the digital world, a consumer can leave German legal jurisdiction behind them with a click of the mouse. Here is where youth protection systems that have proven themselves in the physical world reach their limits. In order that children can play online carefree, the acknowledgment of youth protection programmes in closed systems is an important component for providers. What contribution do parental controls make to strengthening youth media protection in the online segment? What can politics and supervision do to promote these approaches?
